'What's a Mine, Dad?' sketch longlisted for the World Illustration Awards

One of my development sketches for my tin mining oral histories project 'What's a Mine, Dad?' was delightfully longlisted for the World Illustration Awards this week.

This was a sketch I made while working out how to capture the dirty, gritty and dark atmosphere underground in a working tin mine. The lines are digital, printed and worked into with wax resist, Quink and acrylic ink, washing up liquid and charcoal.
